Expect a Western European sea climate. The daytime temperature in October in Rotterdam ranges generally from 10 to 18°C. Be prepared for showers now and then.
Banks: 09:00-17:00 hrs
Shops: 09:00-18.00 with exceptions. Many shops open later on Monday morning. Supermarkets are generally open till 20.00 hrs.
Currency Exchange and ATM:
Banks and currency exchange offices are the best places to change money with the latter having longer opening hours. If your bank card works overseas, you should be able to obtain cash from ATMs in The Netherlands as well. Visa and MasterCard are accepted in most shops, hotels and restaurants. You will find ATMs with many banks.
With restaurants service charge is included. Expression of gratitude through a small tip (up to 5%) is appreciated.
Visa and Invitation Letter:
All foreign visitors entering The Netherlands must have a valid passport or identification card. For some countries a visa is required. Information on the visa requirements and the location of embassies can be found on the website of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Please make sure you apply for a visa well in advance of your journey.
