Rolf Bos is director of the global nutrition development at FrieslandCampina and theme director Nutrition & Health TiFN, a public private partnership. He received his PhD in 1996, from the University of Groningen. He started his career as an assistant professor at the University of Groningen focused on bacterial adhesion to biomaterials. In 1999 he left University and joined FrieslandCampina. At FrieslandCampina, he has been responsible for projects in the area of membrane technology and has set-up and led the Nutritional Sciences department and developed and steered various research programs related dairy nutrition. In his current position he is responsible for the Global Nutrition Development team (Wageningen, Singapore), with a focus on implementation of nutritional concepts based on minimal processing. At TiFN, he is leading and developing the renewed Nutrition & Health theme into multi-disciplinary projects aimed at unravelling the biology behind perceived consumer benefits. Throughout his career he remained firmly attached to science and has experienced that a multi-disciplinary approach is one of best guarantees for implementation of science and creative solutions. His personal ambition is to continue with this strategy to delivery tangible results related to healthy and sustainable solutions.
